I’m an award-winning Scandinavian-American creative with a trained background in Brand Identity Design, years of working experience in Digital Product Design, and a passion for bringing both skillsets to the table at every turn.
I’m currently exploring how to build a better home for healthcare as a Senior Product Designer at Zocdoc.
I'm also a Trauma-Informed Personal Trainer (TI-PT, NASM-CPT) with a specialization in Corrective Exercise (NASM-CES). I've applied these learnings in a Powerlifting and Weightlifting practice, and hold award-winning placings in the WNBF/INBF.
Education
🎓 I earned my BFA in Communication Design (focus in Graphic Design) at Pratt Institute, where I graduated with highest honors and the Art Director Award for my graduating class. I was also a selected artist in the 2016 Pratt Show.
Experience
👩🏼🎨 I designed at SS+K post-grad, an ad agency with a passion for blending strategy with socio-cultural insights to create ideas that inspire action and catalyze change, where I illustrated and designed for an experimental Facebook messenger bot that was nominated for a Shorty Award. I also worked on a number of brand identity projects with a focus on designing guidelines and branded iconography for various clients.
👩🏼💻 I began my career soon after as the Lead Designer at Spoon University, where I executed the product creative and brand identity from startup to acquisition by SNI/Food Network in 2017. Responsibilities included guiding the overall creative direction, creating video GFX, event design, web design, and CMS/interface design.
🍜 Following Spoon University’s acquisition, I led Kitchen Help initiatives as a Senior Product Designer at Food Network. I maintained a focus on interface design on our 2x Webby Award winning DTC product, Food Network Kitchen. Additionally, I single-handedly designed the suite of editorial and content creation tools used to manage the app in our CMS, which was expanded to service other brands under the Discovery, inc. umbrella.
🥑 Prior to my current role, I led design for the Culinary + Merchandizing team at Daily Harvest.
Personal Work
🔎 I completed a side project, @pixelsinsquares, where I challenged myself to illustrate every single day for a year (2020-21).
🎙️I was interviewed on Bézier about my design process, career path as a creative, and experience designing in Food Media.
🗒My dream client list? NASA, Milk Bar, Frank Ocean, The Trevor Project, Norway (I'm ambitious), and Craigslist (I like a good digital product overhaul).
